DTS:X/DTS NEURAL:X UPMIXING

DTS:X® is the next-generation audio codec from DTS that reduces object-based audio and enables new deep and interactive audio experiences. By adding an external amplifier, the 9.2ch AV receiver can be expanded to decode 11ch to drive a 7.2.4ch surround system. Enjoy a deep soundstage with incredibly rich and lifelike audio. Other audio codes such as PCM and DSD can be mixed up using DTS Neural:X to enjoy 3D surround sound.      

DOLBY ATMOS HEIGHT VIRTUALISATION

Playing any Dolby format with Dolby Atmos Height virtualiser connected enables a deeper listening experience and creates a virtual surround and height effect from traditional speaker layouts without using additional surround or height speakers.

APPLE AIRPLAY 2

Apple AirPlay 2 allows you to effortlessly stream music or podcasts to speakers throughout the house using any Apple device or ask Siri, and it all stays in perfect time.

DOLBY ATMOS/DOLBY SURROUND UPMIXING

By adding an external amplifier, the 9.2ch AV receiver can be expanded to decode 11ch to drive the 7.2.4ch configuration of the latest cinema sound platform, Dolby Atmos®. You can reproduce object-oriented sound in fine, curved exchanges or the realistic, three-dimensional indirect exchange from the top speakers. Other audio encodings including DTS formats can now be enhanced using Dolby Surround, so you can enjoy 3D surround sound.

NEXT-GENERATION VIDEO STANDARD READY

The VSX-LX505 supports throughput for HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) and Dolby Vision signals. By connecting compatible source equipment, you can enjoy these latest video standards on a compatible display. Plus, all HDMI terminals support 4K (60p/4:4:4/24-bit), Wide Colour Gamut (BT.2020) and HDCP 2.2, so you'll have no trouble upgrading to new devices and can also enjoy premium content such as 4K videos with digital copy protection.

ADVANCED MCACC WITH AUTO PHASE CONTROL PLUS   

Advanced MCACC adjusts the sound according to the listening room and speakers, and also creates clearer sound by suppressing standing waves that occur between walls or ceiling and floor. Measurements at up to nine positions can be stored for a wide listening area. Auto Phase Control Plus performs real-time phase difference analysis and automatically compensates for the distance between the LFE and main signals, delivering strong bass and clear, high-frequency sound.

WORKS WITH SONOS

By connecting the VSX-LX505 to Sonos Connect, you can play any music or audio source from your Sonos app. You can group the VSX-LX505 with other Sonos devices on your network or use it independently. The AV receiver will automatically turn on and switch inputs as soon as you play music from your Sonos app.

POWERED ZONE 2/ZONE 3

With the powered function, the VSX-LX505 can directly control speakers in other rooms without the need for a separate amplifier. Plus, the reliable Zone 2 DAC lets you listen to any digital audio source.

ZONE B OUTPUT FOR WIRELESS HEADPHONES

The VSX-LX505 is equipped with Zone B audio output. Zone 2 Pre output can also be used as Zone B Line output to extend the sound from Zone A (main zone) to another location or to wireless headphones via a transmitter.

BUILT-IN CHROMECAST

The VSX-LX505 comes with built-in Chromecast, so you can use your mobile device to stream your favourite music, radio or podcasts to your speaker. You can control the sound from anywhere in the house using Chromecast-based apps active on your personal device - iPhone, iPad, Android phone and tablet, Mac and Windows laptop and Chromebook. The VSX-LX505 also works with Google Assistant, so you can ask it to turn up the volume, skip tracks or pause the music using your Google Assistant-based device such as Google Home.
